Intracanal Retention of Glass Fiber Posts
Objective: Fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) posts have recently become more popular for restoring endodontically treated teeth because of providing esthetics, better stress distribution and lower risk of root fracture. Resistance against tensile forces dislodging the post from the root canal is a prerequisite for these posts. This study aimed to evaluate the tensile retention (strength) of in...
متن کاملRetention of platelets by glass bead filters.
Whole blood was passed through glass bead filters and the retention of platelets studied under various experimental conditions. Platelet retention was similar over a wide range of blood flow rates; however, it was decreased at fast rates of flow. Platelet retention was not influenced by the haematocrit value of the blood over a wide range. Retention in filters containing siliconized beads was s...

متن کاملSynchronous cultures of Bacillus subtilis obtained by filtration with glass fiber filters.
A simple method of potentially wide applicability for obtaining synchronous cultures of Bacillus subtilis based on size selection is described. Using glass fiber filters, a population (about 1 to 2% of the parent population) can be obtained substantially enriched for small cells which grow synchronously. A method for rapidly concentrating dilute suspensions of cells is described.
متن کاملSimultaneous concentration of Salmonella and enterovirus from surface water by using micro-fiber glass filters.
A method using micro-fiber glass filters (8-micrometers porosity) at pH 3.5 was successfully used for simultaneous concentration of Salmonella and enterovirus from Meurthe River samples, collected 8 km south of Nancy, France. A concentration of 10-liter samples was indispensable and permitted recovery of several enterovirus and Salmonella serotypes in concentrations of 1.3 most probable number ...
